Who is the "Projector Depot"
Projector Depot is a division of AVPresentations, Inc (AVP). Our purpose is to provide a mechanism for which both AVP and our customers may offer for sale, trade or purchase, pre-owned and demo model projectors and accessories at a fair and marketable price. AVP provides brokerage services during the transaction to protect the seller from non-payment of shipped product and to assure the buyer they are receiving quality product.
How it Works
The "Projector Depot" (PD) is a first-of-its-kind, e-mail or telephone buying and selling system which allows the buying and selling of high quality used projectors and accessories on the World Wide Web. Sellers access (PD) and list the projectors they wish to sell. Sellers list the items by product type, brand, model #, resolution, brightness, approximate age and asking price.
Sellers agree to allow (PD) to accept any offers equal to or higher than their Minimum Asking Price. Sellers also guarantee that the projector specifications they list match the true specifications as provided by the original manufacturer. A listing may deleted from our database after 4 weeks, it being assumed that either the projector are no longer available or the selling price is above market potential. Sellers can re-list their projector at any time. There is no cost or commitment associated with listing projectors.
Buyers access (PD) web site and projector listings at no cost to them. Buyer also has the option of E-Mail or telephoning (PD) for a Projector Finder. This is an ongoing service that automatically emails the Buyer of any existing or newly posted projector that match the Buyer's requirements. Buyers can ask our (PD) presenter representative any questions they might have about particular projector by e-mail or telephone. The (PD) representative will forward the question on to the Seller and, in turn, relay the response back to Buyer.
Buyers can make bids on projector listed. All first time bidders are required to fill out a (PD) Information Form. Once a buyer makes a bid, our representative will either decline it or turn over to the seller for acceptance. The Seller will have 24 Hours to render their decision. The Buyer will be notified within 24 hours whether his bid has been accepted or declined. Buyer may also be outbid and will be emailed if he is. If bid is accepted, buyer then has 24 hours to submit credit card payment or certified funds into (PD) escrow. Payment remains in escrow until the 24 Hour inspection period has expired.
If Seller accepts a bid, projectors are automatically tagged for consignment of Contract. No one else can purchase the projector while under contract consignment. Buyer is automatically emailed that they have 24 hours period to submit payment into the (PD) escrow account. (see the Buyer Payment Policies below).
If Buyer fails to submit approved payment into PD escrow within the required time, all parties (including previous bidders) are notified that the order is canceled and the projector are returned to the active status at the original price.
Once Buyer's payment into the (PD) escrow has cleared, Seller is automatically emailed that he has 48 hours to ship the projector directly to Buyer at the Seller's expense (for more details, see Seller Shipping Policies below).
Once Buyer receives shipment of the projector, Buyer then has 24 hours in which to inspect and accept the projector or file a detailed complaint with (PD) if the projector is not in the Seller-represented condition (See Buyer Inspection Policies below). Funds are released from escrow after the one day projector inspection period has expired and the Seller is paid by check less the (PD) commission fee (see Commission Schedule section).
Commission Schedule
Effective July 1, 1998, the following commission schedule applies to all transactions with the "Projector Depot". Commission is based on the gross selling price of the projector(s) and is charged to the Seller. The Seller pays no commission if the sale is not completed. The seller pays to (PD) 20% of the gross selling price of the projector(s) once the sale is completed. The Seller is assessed a minimum $ 49.00 handling fee on all projector sales whether they are accepted or rejected by Buyer. The Buyer is assessed a minimum $ 29.00 handling fee on all projector purchases whether the projector(s) are accepted or rejected by Buyer. Minimum Sellers fee is paid to (PD) once official Buyers offer is accepted. Seller's commission paid to (PD) as a condition of sale will be deducted from Buyer's escrow account with the remaining balance paid to Seller. Minimum Buyers fee will be deducted from escrow.
Shipping Policy (Seller)
Once Buyer's escrow payment has cleared through (PD), Seller is notified to ship projector within 48 hours to Buyer at Seller's expense. The notification will provide shipping instructions necessary for adequate shipping and (PD) tracking. The Seller must ship the projector via authorized trackable shipping carrier for tracking purposes. If Seller ships via US Postal Service his payment will be delayed until delivery can be manually verified. The Seller must notify (PD) and forward a copy of all shipping documents. Notification to (PD) is imperative within 48 hours of receiving the notice to ship the projector(s)from (PD) for tracking purposes. Seller risks cancellation and loss of saleshould notice not be given to (PD).
Seller is obligated to pay for shipping costs to Buyers location within the United States. However, should Buyer request air shipment or next day shippment service the costs of said shipment over $50.00 will be deducted from Buyers escrow and reiburesed to Seller. Seller must FAX or mail a copy of Shipping Invoice to (PD) so that they can be reimbursed. Buyer requested air shipments must be made within 24 hours or seller risks losing the sale or paying for air shipment costs. However, Seller is only obligated for the first $50 of shipping costs. Receipt of Shippers documents from the Seller to (PD) indicates that Seller accepts and is bound by all (PD Policies and Terms stated herein.
Inspection Policy (Buyer)
Once Buyer receives shipment of the projector(s), Buyer has 24 hours in which to inspect the projector(s) and file a legitimate detailed complaint with (PD) if the projector(s) are not in the Seller-represented condition or if the specifications are incorrect. If Buyer does not notify (PD) within this time, the sale is completed, escrow funds are released, and Seller is paid less (PD) commission. Seller's payments are mailed approximately 3 days after delivery.
The inspection period is not a demonstration and purchase proposition for the Buyer -- projector(s) can only be rejected if they are not as promised. Buyer must carefully inspect the projector(s). A completed sale is final! Period! The only warranty on the projector(s) will extend from the manufacturer, if any. Please be advised that many manufacturers will not warranty projector(s) to anyone other than the original purchaser. If Buyer files a complaint with (PD) that the projector(s) are not in the Seller-represented condition or for ANY reason whatsoever, then (PD) will attempt to negotiate an agreement between Buyer and Seller. If no agreement can be reached, (PD) will arrange for the projector(s) to be returned to Seller and shipped at the Buyer's expense. Funds will be credited back to the Buyer less the (PD) handling fee (irregardless of the reason for return) after the projectorss have been received by the Seller. (PD) must be notified in writing from the Buyer the date of shipment back to the Seller, projector listing number, and shipping tracking number. If this information is not received from the Buyer to (PD) within 24 hours of the receipt of the projector(s) from Seller, the sale will be final and Buyer will not be credited. (PD) will inform Buyer how to return merchandise. The cost of return freight is assessed to the Buyer.
Party Anonymity
Buyers and Sellers are anonymous to each other with (PD). All information will only be seen by (PD) representatives. When Buyers and Sellers receive notification of offers placed or accepted, the notification only refers to the listing number. No reference is made concerning the Buyer or Seller identity until it is time to ship the projectors. This is necessary to protect the interests of all parties and insure that all transactions are processed in accordance with (PD) policies.
